The Angel Gabriel was sent from God to our Blessed Mother. He greeted her saying “Hail Mary, full of grace! The Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women. Do not be afraid. You have found favor with God. You shall conceive and bear a Son and give Him the name Jesus. He will be called the Son of the Most High.”
Mary asked the Angel “How could this be for I do not know any man?”
The Angel answered her “The Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Most High will cover you. The child will be Holy and be called the Son of God.”
Mary answered “I am the servant of the Lord. Let it be done unto me as you say.”
We call this the Incarnation, Jesus became human. This was the work of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Love. Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit in Mary.
