The Apostle's Creed

The Apostle's Creed is our profession of Faith. Creed means “I believe”, it states all we believe as Catholic Christian. We say the Apostles Creed when we say certain prayers like the Holy Rosary and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. It is said sometimes in Mass in place of the Nicene Creed.

The Apostle's Creed :

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of Heaven and earth.

God created everything, the earth, all the people, the trees, the flowers, these are all gifts from God to us.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.

God's greatest gift to us is Jesus Christ, God's only son,who came to earth to be our friend and brother and Savior.

He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and was born of the Virgin Mary.

Jesus was born of the Holy Spirit through the Virgin Mary, His Mother and our Mother too.

He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.

Jesus did no wrong but was put to death. He was sentenced by Pontius Pilate, a Roman judge. He died and was buried in a tomb.

He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again.

We believe God raised Jesus from the dead. On Easter Sunday, His friends saw that He was alive! They rejoiced and sang -- Alleluia!

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Holy Trinity. It gives life to us and to all the friends of Jesus, who are His Church. We believe in the communion of Saints in Heaven. The Saints pray for us in Heaven. We believe that Jesus forgives our sins through the priest in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. We believe that there is indeed a Heaven and know that when we die we will go there. Amen.
